Objectives
The students know the terminology and contents of industrial management and its significance for the company’s success. The courses focuses on Finnish and global paper industry. The students know how to read and interpret financial statements and balance sheets of companies of the forest cluster. The students can analyse and understand the decisions made by companies based on financial thinking. The course emphasises the students’ professional development in the paper industry.

Costs of a company, productivity and profitability, funding of an enterprise, budgeting for a paper mill: sales, production and acquisitions budgets, financial statement and balance sheet of a company in the forestry cluster, cost structure of paper manufacturing and factors affecting it, analysis of paper manufacturing variables, enterprise resource planning systems, management and indicators of production, production planning, logistics, acquisitions, social responsibility of a company
