Printing Technology and Laboratory Work (4cr)

Objectives

The students know different printing methods and stages of the printing process. They learn about getting the product ready for printing, printing and finishing the printed product. The students learn how to take the paper’s demands into account when printing with different methods. The students know the most common print evaluation and measuring techniques. They can analyse printing errors and know the reasons for them.

Content

History and future of printing, quality formation of the print and measuring. Offset printing, deep printing, flekso, silk-screen printing, electrophotography and ink-jet printing and how paper behaves with these printing methods. Functional printing. Printing colours. After-treatment of the printer.
