Basic GermanLaajuus (3 cr)

Objectives

The students are able to handle the following situations in German: agreeing on a meeting; telephone discussion; spelling words; introducing self, study institution and hometown, managing guests. They also improve their general and technical vocabulary: expressions of time, units of measurement, colours, and politeness. The students deepen their skills in grammar: present perfect, expressions of time, prepositions with accusative/dative, conjunctive, imperfective. The students do pronunciation exercises and familiarise themselves with the culture of German speaking countries.

Prerequisites

Basic course 2 (with the grade of at least 3) or Basic course 3 or 3 years of German studies.
