Objective of course
The student can maintain, develop and evaluate his/her knowledge of the language and language learning skills. He/she can manage in various work environments demanding field-specific written and oral skills in Swedish. He/she can acquire information and utilise it in the development of his/her own expertise. He/she knows the Swedish cultural background in Finland and the Nordic Countries and can work with people having different cultural backgrounds in Swedish. The student attains the language skills in Swedish required of state officials functioning in a position requiring a higher education in a bilingual office. (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages levels B1 = satisfactory, B2 = good)

Course contents
1. Core content and terminology in law and business administration in Swedish
2. Communication situations needed in professional interaction in Swedish
3. Knowledge of the practices and different cultures in internationalising working life

Teaching methods
Contact teaching based on authentic, communicative, experiential and cooperative methods and independent studying

Assessment methods
Active participation in planning one's own learning and work forms of the course, written and oral tasks and self-evaluation. Exam.

Prerequisites
The syllabus of the general upper secondary school (B-level) or an equivalent level (the competence level A2-B1, Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
