Objectives

Having completed work on this module, students will - be able to create a business plan and draw up the documents required for setting up a business. - understand the principles on which businesses and national economies operate. - have some insight into how businesses operate in practice.

Content

The students create a business plan for a fictional Practice Enterprise and go through the procedures for setting up this Practice Enterprise. The students study the principles of economics, learn about the various different forms of business enterprises, learn how to plan profitable business operations, including marketing and financing a business start-up. The students also work on improving their IT and communication skills.

Teaching methods: Group work. Each group will work on a different Practice Enterprise. The Practice Enterprise group work will be supported by lectures and other practice tasks.
