Content
Goals:
Students are able to maintain, develop and evaluate their language skills and language learning skills. They can operate orally and in writing in the multicultural working environment of their field. The students understand that English is the key to internationality, international job markets and finding information. The students understand the need for English in cross-cultural communication and civilisation.
Contents:
The most important terms of the field in English, interacting in English in the working life, knowledge of the practices and cultures of the international working life.
II year of study (3 cr) EU-terminology, special characteristics of English in legislation, drawing up a contract, labour legislation terminology, meetings and negotiations, criminal and civil law terminology.
Teaching methods:
Authentic language use, experience based and collaborative lessons, independent work.
Evaluation:
Active participation in the planning and implementation of the students' own studies, written and oral tasks, self-evaluation. Exam.

Finnish and English
Prerequisites:
Upper secondary school A-language level or equivalent.
