Objective of course
Students have an understanding of the basic skills of choral conductors and master these skills to some extent. They are acquainted with and master the basic beat patterns and the basics of rehearsing choirs. Students are capable of leading choral warm-ups, studying new repertoires, giving initial tones to choirs and the basics of playing choral scores on the piano. Through singing in the practice choir, students have acquired an understanding of choral literature and the basic demands of choral singing.
Course contents
Fundamental conducting technique, rehearsing a choir, giving initial tones, warm-ups, analysis of choral works and playing from choral scores. A repertoire of ca. ten, mainly four-part, choral works from different periods and genres. Conducting and rehearsing the rehearsal choir and singing in the choir.

Group lessons and the rehearsal choir
Assessment methods
An examination with two parts. The first part consists of playing a simple choral score a prima vista on the piano and giving initial tones. In the second part, students rehearse a song new to the choir and conduct two pieces from the repertoire. The jury gives the students oral feedback. Feedback from the teacher, peer review and self-evaluation.
