-can maintain, develop and evaluate their language skills and language learning skills
-can manage in multicultural work environments demanding field-specific written and oral skills in English
-understand that the English language is a key to internationality and international labour markets as well as information search
-can search for information needed in their professional field from different sources and understand and interpret the information
-understand that the foreign language skills are part of intercultural communication and human education
-the competence level B2 (CEF*)

Course contents
The core content, terminology and communication situations needed in professional interaction in meaningful nursing contexts.

Teaching methods
Contact teaching based on authentic, communicative, experiential and cooperative methods and independent studying

Assessment methods
Active participation in the planning of one's own learning and work forms of the course, written and oral assignments and self-evaluation. Examination and/or a language portfolio compiled during the course

Prerequisites
General upper secondary school syllabus or a passed English proficiency test
