Content

The course unit is intended for students of Tampere University of Applied Sciences, who act as a sports tutor. In the Tampere Universities’ community, a sports tutor offers peer support, enables sports hobbies, and encourages fellow students in their sporty activities. The sports tutor drafts a tutoring plan, participates in the activities for at least one semester and writes an essay reflecting on his or her experiences of being a sports tutor.

Sports tutors are introduced to the roles and tasks of a sports tutor, Tampere Universities’ sports services and other sporting possibilities in the Tampere region.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Sports tutors write an essay/report for which they are given instructions. A reflective essay/report, which must be returned by the end date of the course, is required for successful completion of the course.
The report (min. 2 pages) must include the following aspects among other things:
- description of the operations and operational environment
- assessment of learning, e.g., based on different situations and cases
- how the experience has promoted learning, getting ready for a profession/working life and graduation
The report is submitted to the teacher responsible for the course by the agreed date.

In the case of a failing grade, the student has not returned the reflective essay/report by the due date as specified in the assignment.
