Objectives of course:
Students
- are able to use scientific sources in English in their own field of study in their Bachelor’s thesis and in their work.
- are familiar with the structure, style and vocabulary of scientific texts and know how to write a thesis abstract.

Content

Course contents:
- authentic scientific journal articles
- exercises on the structure and style of scientific writing and academic vocabulary
- reading techniques
- summarizing, paraphrasing and referencing
- thesis abstract, structure and language
- central linguistic features of academic writing (the passive voice, impersonal expressions, parallels, pronoun linkage and word order)
