Objectives
The student
- is able, under supervision, to assess the need for care, plan, implement and evaluate nursing during pregnancy and the postpartum period, gynaecological disorders, and nursing of the family and children, utilising evidence-based knowledge;
- recognises and is able to bring up matters and challenges concerning sexuality and reproductive health with the client during her life span;
- knows how to support families in the growth of parenthood and a healthy life style;
- recognises the needs of family, support networks in multidiciplinary collaboration;
- knows the basics of medication in gynaecology, pregnancy and postpartum recovery;
- recognises the most common disorders in pregnancy, and postpartum recovery, as well as the most common gynaecological diseases.

Prerequisites
30 ects of initial stage studies must be completed before entering the middle stage studies.
