Master´s Thesis (30cr)

Objectives

The student plans, implements and reports a research or development project tied to working life. The thesis is based on the concepts, methods and information that are relevant to your field of expertise. Based on these, the student chooses the subject of the thesis as a concrete working life development project.

The student is able to solve demanding problems in research and / or innovation. He / she is able to apply new knowledge and methods as well as to combine the knowledge of different fields as required by the thesis project.

The project approved by the thesis supervisor may include an artistic or other functional part (music performance, recording, pedagogical project, teaching material, etc.) or it may be a research or study type work.

Content

The thesis will be constructed as a project portfolio containing
1) a thesis report describing the progress of the project, its objectives, the methods used and the results obtained, or dealing with an artistic project from a defined, professionally relevant point of view
2) documents related to the project
3) description and evaluation of the development of personal competence.

The subject of the development project is acquired by the student himself. When a bachelor's thesis is done in cooperation with an external actor, the target organization designates a contact person for the development task.

Familiarization with publications on the implementation or implementation of projects related to the thesis, as well as relevant research or operational methods (eg. teaching methods) for the thesis project.

The thesis portfolio:
- a report on the project and its results
- documents related to the project or materials produced during the project
- critical self-assessment, in which the activity is assessed in relation to the set objectives and the views expressed in the professional literature
