Objectives

Students are familiar with basic recording studio work. They get an understanding of sound as a physical phenomenon, how it is produced and perceived regarding the properties of various instruments and of spatial effects on sound.
Students have ethical skills, learning skills and work community skills.
They become familiar with a recording studio and its equipment as a whole and understand the differences between analogue and digital processing and between signal routing and signal processing. They are capable of operating a basic digital music work station and of compiling unities from recorded material by editing.
Students understand how a microphone functions and they are familiar with the most important microphone techniques.They have an ability to work as a recordist and an editor in studio production and carry out a recording project.
