Objectives

After completing the course, students know wood strength and transformation properties to be considered in design of supporting structures. They know how common wooden structures work and are scaled for different stress forms and can make simple scaling of supporting structures. Students know the connection methods used in wooden structures and understand how different connections work technically.
Students learn to read and interpret supporting wooden structure plans. After the course they can use related information in design.
