Course unit code: TT-4202

General information

Credits
3 cr

Objectives

The students recognise the most significant dimensionless parametres of heat transfer and fluid dynamics. They are able to describe the types of heat exchangers and their heat transferring characteristics. The students are able to calculate typical pipe and surface heat transfer and fluid cases. They are able to use computers to help with heat transfer calculations and to draw up characteristic curves for heat exchangers.

Content

Forms of heat transfer. Pipe and surface heat transfer. Conduction, correlation equations of heat transfer by convection and Reynolds analogy. Different types of heat exchangers and their structural differences (air, water). Recuperation. Radiation heat transfer and visibility coefficient, boiling and condensation.
