Objectives
The students have an overview on factors and problems related to energy efficiency. They are able to evaluate the significance of the building, its technical systems and their usage and maintenance on energy consumption and costs. The students are able to draw up the energy balance of a building. They recognise some ways to diminish the energy consumption of a building. The students are able to calculate the energy performance rating of the building and to draw up an energy certificate for a one-family house.
Content
The students are able to draw up operating condition assessments and to evaluate the profitability of investment options. They are able to evaluate the significance of indoor air parametres when calculating the buildings’ energy costs. The students are able to carry out an in-depth analysis of the energy economy and ways of recovering heat for buildings and building services, taking into account planning, implementation and usage. The students know the basic considerations needed in energy audits.
