Description

The aim of this degree programme is to provide the students with competences to act as change agents in their own educational institution and to become an active partner of an international network of educational leadership professionals. The learners will improve their knowledge and skills in the area of educational leadership. They will gain a better understanding of their values, communication and influencing skills. The participants will learn how to lead a diverse range of individuals, teams and organizations, manage different stakeholders, and understand the pedagogical foundation and adoption of new technologies to support learning. Using a business leadership mindset in their educational context, they will develop their own practical theories of learning and assessment, and an understanding the importance of evaluation and feedback in learning and leading. The participants will also improve their competences in the design and implementation of curricula and gain an understanding of the formulation of education policy in their own environment.

Graduates qualify for leading positions in the field of education in multicultural environments. It is envisioned that graduates gain leadership positions in educational institutions in both the public and private sector. The degree provides graduates with the abilities and skills to work in governmental organisations, Ministries of Education and global NGO's.

Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will have:

- know-how to operate in a learning community interdependently

- considered the formulation of education policy and its relationship with practice
- reflected upon the impact of politics and economics on educational policy

Curriculum development and working life cooperation

The curriculum is developed in cooperation with TAMK’s other Master’s degree Programmes. Working life cooperation is implemented e.g. through students' Master thesises and an international advisory board. Student feedback is collected regularly and applied constantly. Alumni feedback is collected regularly through online surveys.

Further information

This is a practical blended-learning full-time or part-time Master's Degree in Business Administration based on real life authentic learning for a variety of different educational contexts. Participants will learn from analyzing and discussing real cases and real life problems. The programme has been designed with the most contemporary learning theories, allowing participants to apply knowledge to their particular context and attain positive student experiences.
