Objectives

This course provides students with advanced knowledge about the possibilities of energy procurement and usage in buildings. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

• Identify the environment and opportunities for energy procurement in properties.
• Recognize the significance and principles of preparing energy survey documents during the building permit phase.
• Understand the impact of indoor environmental objectives on energy consumption.
• Appreciate the importance of energy balance in assessing a building's energy consumption.
• Select building energy production methods considering various selection criteria.
• Identify the potential of different local energy production methods in properties.
• Recognize the role of energy modeling in setting building energy consumption goals and assessing the energy efficiency of design solutions.

The student understands the fundamentals of energy procurement and the significance of energy surveys during the building permit phase. They can identify how indoor comfort goals affect energy consumption and utilize energy balances for assessment. Additionally, they recognize the basic criteria for selecting heating systems.

In addition to the satisfactory level, the student masters the various options for energy production and their selection criteria. They grasp the role of energy modeling in examining design solutions and are familiar with the possibilities and limitations of local energy production.

In addition to the good level, the student demonstrates a profound understanding of the principles of energy efficiency and their application. They are capable of evaluating energy market and procurement issues.
