Objectives

On this course, the student will deepen their knowledge through practical exercises related to the commissioning and measurements of various electrical systems. Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:

• Safely measure electrical quantities in the electrical network and analyze measurement results.
• Perform the commissioning inspection of an electrical system and conduct related measurements.
• Verify compliance with requirements for common building services systems.
• Identify disturbances in the electrical network and understand their backgrounds.
• Clearly report and present measurement results and the conclusions drawn from them.

Content

This course is based on practical exercises conducted in the laboratory.
It covers measurements in building and distribution networks, inspection measurements required for the commissioning of electrical installations, in-process quality and control inspections, acceptance and commissioning inspections, and functional tests of equipment.
The course also includes the analysis and reporting of measurement results.

Prerequisites

Completion of studies in the electrical building services engineering degree program for the first two academic years or equivalent competence obtained by other means.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student is able to construct measurement connections and perform measurements according to given work instructions and separate guidelines. The student takes responsibility for their own work and can collaborate in a group.

The approved completion of the course requires the following criteria to be met:

The student has followed the given instructions.
The student has actively participated in laboratory work according to attendance requirements (100% attendance).
The student has prepared and submitted required assignments, reports, and documentation satisfactorily and on time.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the previous skills, the student can describe the progress of their measurements, process measurement results, and justify observations made during measurements.
The student can independently complete assigned tasks and takes responsibility for the group's performance as well.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the previous skills, the student can critically analyze the measurements they have conducted and the processed measurement results, drawing deeper conclusions from their observations.
The student is motivated, active, and actively takes committed responsibility for both their own performance and the group's performance.
