Objectives

The student knows
• basics of alternating current technology and circuit analysis
• perform and interpret various measurements in AC circuits (voltage, current, apparent power, active power, reactive power, power factor)
• calculate calculations of theoretical alternating current technology with effective values, complex numbers and pointer calculation
• use the simulation tool in the analysis of alternating current circuits.
• the basics of the three-phase system and calculate basic quantities in symmetrical and asymmetrical load situations.
• basic structures and dimensioning of frequency converters and short-circuit motors in mechanical engineering applications
• connect basic components and measuring devices in the laboratory. Able to perform measurements on real circuits and analyze measurement results.
• Basics of electrical safety and know how to work safely in a laboratory environment.

Basic dimensions of AC circuits

Complex numbers and pointer calculation in the analysis of AC circuits
Passive components in an AC circuit (resistor, capacitor, coil)

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student knows the concepts of alternating current technology and three-phase technology. The student knows the basic components and their behavior in alternating current circuits. The student knows how to use the impedance and power triangle. The student performs practical tasks safely with the support of the group. The student is present in the classes for the agreed minimum number. The student can helpfully document his own work and report on the results.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student can use basic measuring devices fluently. He knows the basics of circuit calculation technology and understands the behavior and functions of the basic components of electrical engineering in alternating current circuits. He knows how to apply pointer calculations in simple tasks and knows the power components of three-phase technology. The student knows the basic dimensioning of electronic actuators. He performs assigned tasks safely and independently. He is an active member when working in the group. The student knows how to document his own work and report on the results.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student also completes the most demanding circuit calculation tasks. He understands the principle of pointer calculation and knows how to smoothly apply pointer calculation. He knows the power components of three-phase technology, understands their meaning and the purpose of reactive power compensation. The student knows how to dimension electronic actuators. He uses basic measuring devices fluently and knows how to make choices between device technologies. He inspires and helps other members of the group and safely completes assigned tasks independently.. The student knows how to document his own work and report the results in a professional, clear and structured manner.
