Objectives
The student knows the general operating principles of building automation and the most important possibilities of use, and gets to know the most commonly used systems of different equipment manufacturers.
Content
The purpose and uses of building automation systems in the building. Documentation related to building automation and the most important controllable systems (heating and ventilation). Principles of system structure. Building automation system contracting and the building automation system as an aid to property maintenance
Prerequisites
Basics of Building Services Engineering or corresponding competence
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student recognizes system-related components and knows how to name them. The student understands the purpose of the building automation system for real estate. However, the student cannot fully grasp the role of the individual parts of the system in terms of the functioning of the controlled process.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
In addition to the criteria for a satisfactory grade, the student can evaluate the importance of system-related components in terms of the operation of the process. The student can describe the operation of a simple HVAC process.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the above, the student is able to apply the discussed issues taking into account the needs for the automation system set by the purpose of use of the building and premises. The student knows how to interpret HVAC processes using building automation and applies the learned things in property maintenance.
