Objectives

Students
-know the principles of the leadership of human resources
-know the responsibilities which are related to the plan of action and financial management and know what the annual report contains
-know the principles of the safety culture and safety management of the unit
-know the RSE, MPE and RSO competencies and fields of expertise coming from the national legislation
-know the management system of the medical use of ionizing radiation and preparing for deviations of radiation safety
-know the principles of clinical audit of the medical use of ionizing radiation
-know the principles of the drawing up and maintaining of the quality system and of the quality manual
-are able to plan, implement and evaluate the most common x-ray examinations related to the patient's care as members of a team in clinical training independently and other radiological examinations the training job has to offer as far as possible under guidance
-can carry out appropriate radiation safety of the patient, support person, health-care personnel and other persons
-can act appreciatively and respectfully towards patients and their family members as well as fellow workers
-follow privacy protection procedures
-can reflect their own learning and can continuously develop themselves

Content

-clinical training in an imaging unit or radiotherapy unit according to the students personal goals

Prerequisites

-Clinical Training in different modalities requires accepted Theoretical Studies
-A four-week basic clinical training in radiotherapy or nuclear medicine department must have been done before administration training in the radiotherapy or nuclear medicine department
-Clinical Trainings according to the personal curriculum must be done

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass:
-acts according to the radiographer's ethical instructions
-shows initiative and is cooperative
-can guide the patient and can do x-ray examinations in accordance with the referral independently and other imaging examinations under guidance
-can guide the patient and can function as a member of the team in situations related to radiation protection (patient, support person, staff, escort and working environment)
-can operate radiological equipment safely and appropriately
-works according to radiation safety
-is able to create confidential interaction and care relations with the patients
-is able to do realistic self-assessment, receives feedback and instructions

Fail:
-does not follow agreed working hours
-withdraws repeatedly from learning situations
-does not get through directed of imaging examinations
-endangers patient safety repeatedly
-does not follow privacy protection procedures
-does not observe an aseptic way of action
-there are factors which endanger safety in the use of radiological equipment
-there are repeatedly shortcomings in situations which are related to radiation protection
-does not show interest in his/her own learning related to diagnostic radiography
-cannot act professionally in a work community
