- confronting own sexuality and the sexuality of others

Prerequisites

The student must have completed 135 credits of nursing studies including Anatomy and Physiology and courses of Perioperative Nursing, Maternity Care and Gynaecological Nursing. Supervised clinical training could not be started before completing all theoretical and clinical nursing studies.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student
- is able to describe the midwifery as a discipline
- identifies the ethical principles and legislative framework for midwifery
- is able to describe the basic concepts of sexual and reproductive health
- is able to describe the sociocultural basis of midwifery

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student
- is able to describe the evidence based development of midwifery
- knows the ethical principles and legislative framework for midwifery
- has the basic knowledge of sexual and reproductive health
- is able to discuss the meaning of sociocultural theories in midwifery

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
- is able to analyse the midwifery science and identifies interfaces with other disciplines
- is able to implement the ethical principles and legislative framework for midwifery
- is able to implement the knowledge of sexual and reproductive health to the midwifery practices
- is able to analyse the meaning of sociocultural theories in midwifery
