The aim of this course is to ensure that the student masters the necessary theoretical and practical skills to work as an individual and as a team member in paramedicine.

Upon completing the course, the student will:
• Basic Paramedicine Competence: The student must demonstrate the basic skills both as an individual and when working as a team member. Individual Competence: The student should be able to assess the need of care, initiate necessary treatment, and implement it safety. Team competence: The student must demonstrate the ability to work with a partner in accordance with professional requirements.
• National Theoretical Knowledge in Paramedicine: The student should have a nationally defined level of theoretical knowledge in paramedicine.
• Advanced Paramedicine Competence: The student should be able to lead a care situation and provide comprehensive paramedicine for a patient with their partner.

Content

• Basic of Paramedicine Competence: Individual competence will be demonstrated at two practical stations, while team competence will be assessed in a simulated patient situation.
• National Theoretical Knowledge in Paramedicine: The examination will cover the theory of paramedicine, and its content will be determined by the national network for paramedicine.
• Advanced Paramedicine Competence: Students will work in pairs to demonstrate their competence, including their ability to justify their actions and apply clinical skills, particularly through situational and team-based work.

Prerequisites

Before practical evaluation of the skills of basic level prehospital emergency care the student must have basics of prehospital emergency care theory and supervised practical training completed.
