Assessment methods and criteria
Part 1: Theory intravenous fluid therapy: Written exam, which is assessed numerically (50% correct is required for a successful completion). In addition, successful completion of the theory part requires active participation (participation in group work and seminar presentations).
Part 2: Blood transfusion online test: Successful completion of the Finnish Red Cross blood transfusion ABO online test. The certificate must be returned to Moodle by week xx. Assessment passed/failed.
Parts 3–5: Workshop work: Active participation and 100% attendance at the skillslab session. Completion and return of the assigned preliminary assignments on time. If you are absent from the first lesson, you cannot participate in the latter lessons unless you have had time to make up the first lesson with another group. The first workshop session serves as the basis for the next two workshop sessions. If a student has to be absent, he/she will find another group in which he/she can complete the theme in question. Evaluation scale passed/failed.
PART 6: Theory: clinical laboratory tests. Evaluation scale passed/failed.

Further information
The course begins with an orientation, which requires mandatory attendance. Intravenous fluid therapy and blood transfusion and Clinical laboratory tests include their own orientations.
In intravenous fluid therapy and blood transfusion, the skills workshop work is carried out at the Skills Center. 100% attendance is required for the classes. If you are absent from the first class, you cannot participate in the second class unless you have made up for the first class with another group. The first skill workshop session serves as the basis for the next two practice sessions. If the student has to be absent, he or she will find another group with which to complete the theme in question.
Clinical laboratory tests include sample collection skills workshop work in Tamk's nursing classes. 100% attendance is required for the classes.
