Objectives

On completion of the course, the student will:
• be able to act professionally, collegially, ethically and in compliance with the law
• be able to act in a manner that promotes patient and occupational safety
• be able to act in a client-oriented manner
• be able to take into account the patient's dental anxiety and special needs in the treatment of patients
• be able to assess the patient's need for pain relief and use the pain relief methods included in the oral hygienist's competences using surface and local anaesthesia
• be able to implement preventive, rehabilitative and health maintenance measures in oral health care in accordance with the oral hygienist's responsibilities
• can support clients to take responsibility for their own oral health using resource-based health promotion methods
• be able to reflect areas for the development of their own skills.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Accepted:
The student demonstrates mastery of the training period's learning objectives and completes the tasks assigned for the training period.

Failed:
The student does not meet the criteria for acceptance.
