Objectives

After completing the course, the student will:
• be able to work in a team, promoting good interaction and collegiality
• be able to detect the different degrees of caries, dental hard tissue lesions, periodontal changes during oral health examination.
• be able to examine the mucous membranes of the mouth
• be able to carry out an oral health examination with status notes and draw up a treatment plan based on the findings
• be able to take into account the patient's risk factors and general health when planning periodontal treatment
• be able to plan periodontal treatment, rehabilitative and maintenance treatment and evaluate the outcome of treatment
• be able to plan rehabilitative, maintenance and evaluate outcome of peri-implant disease treatment
• be able to plan, implement and evaluate preventive caries treatments
• be able to work ergonomically, economically and ecologically.

Content

Detection of oral diseases
Examination of oral mucous membranes
Oral health examination and treatment plan
Use of lifestyle, medical history and epidemiological data in the treatment plan and assessment of eligibility for treatment
Periodontal treatment
Treatment of peri-implant diseases
Preventive caries treatment (arresting lesions)

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Accepted:
The student demonstrates mastery of the training period's learning objectives and completes the tasks assigned for the training period.

Failed:
The student does not meet the criteria for acceptance.
