Objectives

The student is able to
- recognise different types of special piping systems and describe how they connect with different production systems
- dimension a compressed air system
- describe the basic principles of gas, steam and condensation pipes and how to dimension them
- evaluate the appropriateness of different types of piping materials for various uses and keep the systems clean
- search information on different sanitation and cleaning methods
- recognises sprinkler rules and is able to draft a sprinkler plan for a space
- describe different gas extinguishing systems

Content

Special piping for industry etc. Concepts, standards and regulations. Pipe routing. Process-technical dimensioning of pipe systems. Steam and condensations pipes, gas and oil pipes, compressed air systems. Pipe fittings and materials. Sanitation methods for apparatus, pipes and liquids. Sprinkler systems. Gas extinguishing systems.
