Objectives

The student can:
• the principles of regulation operation and implementation in various processes
• forms a feedback control circuit model
• to study the behavior of the control circuit in change situations with the help of a model
• tunes the controller
• analyze the goodness of the adjustment
• apply feed-forward control as well as ratio and cascade control.

Content

PID controller. Behavior and stability of a feedback control circuit. PID control design and tuning methods. Feedforward adjustment. Ratio and cascade control.

Prerequisites

Recommended prerequisites: Basics of Control Engineering study course or similar information.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student understands the principles of control operation and implementation in various processes and knows how to create a feedback control circuit model. The student has completed and reported some of the assigned tasks.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the previous point, the student can study the behavior of the control circuit in change situations with the help of a model and tune the controller. The student has completed and reported the assigned tasks. The student is present in most of the lessons and shows interest in the subject.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the previous points, the student can analyze the quality of the adjustment and apply several tuning methods. The student has completed and reported the assigned tasks well. The student is present in lessons and actively shows interest in the subject.
