Objectives

The aim of the course is to develop basic knowledge of the objectives and tasks of life cycle planning and maintenance.

Upon completion of the course, students will
• be able to identify the objectives and tasks of life cycle planning
• know the sustainable principles of process design - know the basics of assessing the carbon footprint and life cycle costs of processes
• be able to define the terminology and implementation methods of process maintenance in industry
• be able to identify the consumables and the systems they form
• know the basics of lubrication techniques

Content

The course will go through a life cycle analysis. Life cycle design extends the design principles to a holistic approach, taking into account the key principles of life cycle thinking. You will learn the meaning, terms and measures of ongoing maintenance and how to implement maintenance in industry.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Students can use life cycle planning in their work at a basic level. Students will know the life cycle planning indicators and identify their potential uses. The student will know the basic concepts of running, material selection and utility systems

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student is able to use life cycle planning in their work. They will take into account sustainable principles and know the basics of setting calculation targets. The student will know the terminology and practices of running maintenance in industry, both in the field of utility systems and lubrication technology.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students can use life cycle planning principles in their work. The student will take into account a wide range of sustainable principles in his/her tasks and know the calculation objectives. The student will be able to take into account ongoing maintenance already at the design stage
