After completing the course, the student will be able to install Linux, make configuration changes, master the packaging system, manage the file system and users and install basic services.

Content

Installing the operating system,
basics of Kernel,
managing the file system and disk mounts- installing,
managing and updating packages,
installing and configuring the services.

Prerequisites

Introduction to Programming.
Open Source OS Basics or corresponding competence.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student can install the Operating System.
The student can use the basic commands of handling the file system.
The student can use the basic command of the packaging system.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student can install the operating system in various ways.
The student can manage users and file systems.
The student can manage package updates.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can build a secure server.
The student can install and configure the SSH network service.
The student can install and configure advanced services.
