Objectives

The student is familiar with the key musical theater repertoire from different stylistic periods, with a particular focus on the Anglo-American musical theater tradition. The student has a broad understanding of technical, stylistic, and interpretive aspects of musical theater. Additionally, the student comprehends and can utilize literature related to musical theater, analyze it, and independently expand and deepen their own knowledge of music analysis and repertoire.

• Expanding and deepening musical theater repertoire knowledge
• Analysis exercises on musical theater repertoire
• Practical work (presentation, etc.) focusing on a specific aspect of musical theater

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Successful completion requires the student’s active participation in the course’s face-to-face meetings and the satisfactory completion of assigned tasks.
