Objectives

The student has a broad knowledge of the musical theatre repertoire and its stylistic features and techniques. They can implement the characteristic features and stylistic devices of musical theatre singing in various genres in their independent work and performance situations. The student performs publicly. The student’s vocal technical and interpretive skills are professional: they have the ability for versatile expression and genre use. The student’s own artistry has strengthened and expanded. The student works systematically and independently.

Content

Strengthening the knowledge and expression of the musical theatre repertoire and one’s own artistry
• Deepening the knowledge of different genres and techniques of musical theatre singing
• Exploring and applying different voice usage methods in one’s own instrument
• Implementing different techniques in one’s own expression: holistic expression and strengthening one’s own artistry
• Systematic implementation of independent work

Prerequisites

Musical Theatre Singing 3 has been successfully completed.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Passed:
The student masters the required program technically and artistically, and brings out the special features of different styles, and
• voice usage and interpretation is versatile and nuanced
• technical skills are at a good level
• mastery of musical ensembles is at a good level
• the student demonstrates their own artistic vision
• work is at a good professional level
Rejected: The student exhibits significant deficiencies in the above-mentioned areas.

Further information

Participation in teaching and organized master classes as well as concerts.
Performing in the examination concert during the autumn semester, where the student’s technical skills are evaluated. Performing in the examination concert during the spring semester, where the student’s comprehensive control of the instrument in an artistic ensemble is evaluated.
Attendance 80%
