Objective of course
Students know the basic legislation which guides the social welfare and health care service system. They acquire basic knowledge of the impact of the EU on social welfare and health care services. Students learn to identify factors that affect the wellbeing and health of man and environment. Students know the development, shortcomings, and financing of the social welfare and health care systems and their responding to the needs of the client's at municipal level. Students acquire a multi-dimensional impression of our environment, and they learn the legislation governing it. They learn the factors that influence the environment and people's health. Students are capable of taking advantage of the environment without abusing it. They learn about global environmental issues including manmade, social and cultural aspects. Students learn the basic concepts of public health science. They know the most common endemic diseases and their epidemiology, origin and risk factors. They learn the main features of health policy. Students learn the factors contributing to the well-being of adults in working age in different phases of their lives like: work, unemployment, family and work-related health care problems. They learn the supportive methods like occupational health care, labor protection in health care provided for adults of working age. Students know the prevention of work-related diseases, the significance of early diagnosis and rehabilitation. Stu-dents know the activities that maintain the ability to work, the significance of the work environment and community on the wellbeing of adults of working age. Students are aware of the domains that teaching and learning process includes when planning and carrying out health promotion and guidance. They acquire experience on health promotion and counseling by applying their pedagogical knowledge in the context. Students are fit for practice in multiprofessional teams in different fields of health care and social services.

G220B-8 Supervised clinical training 1, 3 cr
The students familiarize themselves with the service system of social welfare and health policy.
They respond to the client's physical, mental and social needs under supervision
