Osaamistavoitteet

To familiarise the students with the basics of organic chemistry, especially with environmental context, and the background of environmental chemical analysis.

Sisältö

The main topics are the classification of organic compounds and the properties of different functional groups. In analytical chemistry the main topics are qualitative and qualitative measurements with classical and instrumental methods.

Literature: Will be announced in the beginning of the course. Educational methods: teach-in, demonstrations, series of lectures, self study/distance learning, exercises, coursework, exam, collective learning and net learning. Active participation in the class. Prerequisites: E-11161. Language of instruction: English. Study year: 1.
