Osaamistavoitteet

The objective of the Bachelor’s Thesis is to advance and show your capabilities in adapting your knowledge and expertise to an expert task pertaining to practical professional studies. During the thesis process you need to be capable to work independently, apply what you have learned and that you are able to learn new things independently. After completing Bachelor's Thesis, you can plan, design, implement and evaluate an independent research or development project.

The thesis has to conform to the needs of working life and develop professional practices, knowledge and skills. Thesis topics can be found during practical training periods, through research, development and innovation projects, or through internal or external customers.

The thesis should be based on the development needs of working life, it should be significant to the field and of current interest, creative of new knowledge, and it should serve to develop working life.

Sisältö

You are informed about Bachelor's thesis seminars during your studies and you are expected to participate the seminars. The thesis is an independent research or development work, where the main emphasis is on your individual work. You are expected to keep your supervisor informed throughout the thesis process and to take care that you have read all thesis related instructions in the study guide.

In the end of the thesis process, you will give a seminar talk and take a Maturity Test. An approved thesis is graded on a scale from 1 to 5 by using TAMK's assessment criteria and assessment form. The Bachelor's Thesis Assessment Criteria can be found in the Study Guide.

Esitietovaatimukset

The aim is that the Bachelor's Thesis is among your last study credits before applying for graduation and proceeding to working life. If you are missing some of the study credits of your mandatory courses, it is not recommended to start your thesis. Always consult the thesis coordinator first, if you are unsure whether you can proceed with the thesis or not.
