Objectives
In this course, the student applies and practices user experience design methods in a project. The course prepares the students to work in a customer-oriented and self-directed way within the student team. Put your previously acquired skills into practice.
After completing the course, the student
• Plan and implement user experience design project
• Implement user needs and sustainability requirements on product concepts and demos
• Pay attention to the needs of customers and network
• Can work in a self-initiated way in user experience projects
Content
Project Planning: From client briefs to setting milestones and creating a project plan
Checking points of project work, working with client and tutor
Project tasks according to user experience design principles and project plan
Reporting on project

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student understands the basics of the UX project lifecycle, and the project follows mostly the project plan. The student engages with the team and clients at a basic level. The student can perform some tasks according to the user’s and client’s needs. The student participates in teamwork.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student understands the comprehensive flow of a UX project, from project planning to final delivery. The project has been implemented according to the project plan. The student demonstrates good communication skills, effectively discussing user requirements with clients and contributing positively to the team. The student produces reliable and functional UX solutions in a sustainable way. The student actively collaborates and adapts to changing project requirements.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student takes significant responsibility for project success in a self-directed manner. The student masters the project lifecycle, foreseeing potential challenges and planning accordingly. The student excels in client communications, often going beyond to ensure customer satisfaction and robust solution delivery. The student's UX deliverables showcase innovation, UX design principles and sustainability.The student demonstrates exemplary teamwork skills and pursues a harmonious team environment.

Location and time
Start-up, middle pitch and project ending in Mediapolis. Project progress reviews mainly online.
Exam schedules
No tests, but e.g. a project report is used to evaluate the work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Each student should have a tutor teacher. The tutor teacher accepts the project plan and learning goals and evaluates the learning in the end of the project together with the client and student. The students should calculate working hours and write a report about the project.

Teaching methods
Project work with guidance and tutoring. Team work. Working with the clients.
Student workload
In this course the students work mainly independently and with the student team. Reserve around 90-100 hours for that.
Content scheduling
Project plan, checking points of project work, project report and presentation.

Students will connect to the working life through their projects.

This course is mainly for those students who study in User experience design minor.
In the course the student works in a project and apply and practice user experience design methods in it. All the projects should have a project plan in the beginning.
The students should have basic knowledge on user experience design.
