Objectives
The course provides tools for creating a moving image installation.
The student is able to use artistic, spatial and technical solutions for presenting a moving image as an installation. The aim is to make installations for physical locations and other publication platforms like virtual galleries or 360 virtual environments.
Content
Spatial practices and techniques. Linear and non-linear narrative. Installation on site. Multiscreen experiments. Publication platforms like a virtual gallery or 360-environment.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student is able to recognise some of the concepts of moving image installation and produce basic artwork. The student performs the assigned tasks under supervision and assistance and knows how to apply skills acquired from previous courses. The student is able to give and receive feedback and work in a team.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student is able to outline relationships between the concepts related to moving image art installations. The student is able to choose the most suitable process according to contemporary art practices, justify their choices and solve problems within the tasks. The student is able to give and receive feedback actively and constructively, keeps up with the schedule, and commits to the study group's activities.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student understands very well the relationships between the concepts related to moving image installations and is able to connect their work with the professional context. The student is able to look for various solution options and justify their choices well. The student evaluates solutions and creates new explorative content for the field. The student is able to give and receive feedback actively and constructively, keeps up with the schedule, commits to the study group's activities, and is able to help others. The student is highly motivated.
