Osaamistavoitteet

The advanced Visual Effects course focuses on these techniques used in Visual Effects work: Advanced motion tracking and match moving, Fluid and smoke simulations, Photorealistic rendering, Deep compositing and Crowd simulations.

By the end of this Advanced Visual Effects course, the student will gain proficiency in key Visual Effects techniques, including advanced motion tracking, fluid and smoke simulations, and photorealistic rendering. The student will understand the principles of deep compositing and be able to simulate crowd dynamics. Practical assignments between lectures will ensure the hands-on application of these skills, preparing students for basic to intermediate Visual Effects tasks.

Sisältö

The course blends in-class lectures with hands-on assignments, ensuring a balance of theory and
practical application. Between lectures, students will engage in individual work to hone their skills
and apply their knowledge. Students create a showreel that showcases their Visual Effects skills.

The student:
• demonstrates a basic understanding of advanced Visual Effects techniques and their applications in media production.
• possesses foundational knowledge of the current trends in Visual Effects and can identify some opportunities and challenges in the field.
• participates in course discussions and group activities, contributing to the completion of assigned tasks and projects.

The student:
• displays a clear understanding of the impact of advanced Visual Effects techniques on media production and can analyse current trends and future predictions in the Visual Effects industry.
• designs and/or implements innovative Visual Effects solutions.
• engages actively in all course activities, collaborates effectively with peers, and contributes insightful ideas and solutions.
• articulates their thoughts and findings effectively in course assignments, demonstrating a good grasp of the course content.
