Structured Acquisition of Information (3 cr)

Objectives (course unit)

The student
- knows how to define an inquiry and perform a structured data search
- knows how to describe the process of a data search;
- understands the meaning of evidence based practice;
- knows how to search the clinical practice guidelines based on scientific evidence

Study module Introduction to Research 7B00EG46 must be completed before the course.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student has described the search terms and search process superficially. The sources are disjointed, and they do not answer the research questions. He/she has used only one international research article. The student can describe levels of evidence.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student has described the search terms and search process clearly for the most part. He/she has used international research articles. The student can describe levels of evidence.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student has described the search process explicitly both verbally and as a figure. He/she has used many international research articles. The student can assess levels of evidence.

Assessment methods and criteria

Opintojakson arvosana (T1-K5) koostuu tiedonhakuun perustuvasta harjoitustyöstä. Tämän lisäksi opintojaksolla on läsnäolovelvollinen kirjaston opetus, sekä Moodle-tentti, jotka molemmat ovat suoritettava hyväksytysti kurssisuorituksen saamiseksi.

Harjoitustyön osuus arvosanasta on 100 % (harjoitustyön arvosana jakautuu parityönä tehtyyn harjoitustyöhön 75 % sekä yksilötehtävänä tehtävään pohdintaan 25%).
Aikataulusta myöhästyminen vaikuttaa arvosanaan alentavasti.

Lähiopetus ja itsenäinen opiskelu Moodle-verkkoalustalla. Opintojakso sisältää kirjaston pitämän opetuksen. Tehtävien ja tentin tekeminen annetun aikataulun mukaisesti.
