Objectives (course unit)
Students are able to:
- use and understand vehicle performance dynamo meter and engine break
- assess and repair vehicle glass damages
- assess and measure vehicle body geometry and necessary repairs
- make measurements on vehicle electrical systems using digital devices
Student receive adequate training to certify for vehicle climate control mechanic or supervisor.
Content (course unit)
Student learn in practice about the use of vehicle digital technology.
Students make various measurements related to the automotive and industrial vehicle basic skills in a garage, vehicle inspection and engineering.
Laboratory work is done in teams including the report and result assessment.
Examples of laboratory works: Brake force measurement, driving condition measurements, noise, exhaust gas and lambda measurements, engine break and vehicle dynamometer measurements and voltage loss measurements.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
Student is able to recognise and specify different kind of measurement methods when analysing vehicle systems. Student is working in a group and knows his interaction skills. Student also recognises basic working methods.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
Student is able to compare different measurement methods. Student can also choose best method for measurement and can explain why he/she has chosen that method. Student is able to work responsibly in a group and is ready to improve interaction skills.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
Student understands vehicle systems widely. Student is able to choose best method for measurement and can create new measurement methods. Student is able to work in a group responsibly, flexibly and constructively. Student is able to improve both his/her own and group interaction skills.
