Objectives
The student will be able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English in their chosen field. The student will enhance their proficiency in the English language and their ability to utilize English-language materials in their area of interest within higher education studies.
Content
In this course, fundamental structures of the English language will be reviewed, and professional oral and written communication situations will be practiced. The course aims to teach clear and effective verbal communication and the ability to write consistently and clearly in texts typical of their field of study. The course also aims to boost students' confidence in using English and improve their foreign language study techniques, such as reading professional texts and vocabulary acquisition.
Assessment criteria, pass/fail
You have completed all the required course assignments within the scheduled time frame. Your written and spoken English is moderately fluent and clear, and you are able to convey your thoughts fairly successfully and in appropriate style most of the time.
You have worked actively and in a self-directed manner on the given assignments throughout the course. You are aware of your starting level and have developed your English skills accordingly during the course. You are able to utilise dictionaries and various other language learning tools.
