Objectives

Student shows development in their work as an artistic director of a choir. He/she is able to interpret the repertoire artisticly independently and masters the skills in conducting technique, sound and analysis of demanding choral scores of different eras.

Student is able to work responsibly and lead the artistic development of a choir using appropriate training methods. He/she is able to me a part of a professional team.

Content

A recital of the minimum length of 45 minutes with an own choir or choirs and a skilled chamber choir provided or approved by TAMK . The repertoire has to cover barock, renaissance and romantic eras and include 1-2 works composed after 2000. At least one piece in the repertoire has to be accompanied by an instrument. The concert program must include a minimum of one piece by a female composer.

Conducting technique: technically skilled, expressive and communicative gestures.
Rehearsing methods: Different rehearsing approaches on voice training, tuning a choir, shaping choral sound and choral psychology and pedagogy.
Analysis of different styles of choral scores and playing choral scores.
Rehearsing and conducting a choir, even an own established one.

Studying a wide range of choral repertoire on B-level and mastering it technically and artisticly. Concert performance.
