Objectives (course unit)

The aim of the course is to provide students with solid basic skills in collecting, analyzing, visualizing, and reporting data.

Upon completion of the course, student:
• Understand the basic principles and concepts of data analytics.
• Can use to utilize various tools and software for data analysis.
• Capably analyze and interpret data and make conclusions based on the results.
• Apply problem-solving skills within the context of data analytics.
• Interpret and report results and solutions clearly.

Content (course unit)

The content of the course focuses on the following general topic areas:
• Basics of data analysis.
• Collecting data from various sources.
• Analyzing data using a variety of methods.
• Visualizing data extensively using appropriate software.
• Clear interpretation of results and reporting of solutions.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student
• knows the basic principles of analysis methods.
• knows how to collect and edit data, as well as present the obtained results in a visual way.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student
• knows how to plan the different stages of data collection and analysis.
• can evaluate the reliability of reports and analyses.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student
• knows how to plan a variety of different data collection and analysis options.
• knows how to analyze data in a versatile way and produces several different data visualizations.
• can report the results obtained analytically.
