Objectives (course unit)
After completing the course, the student
• is familiar with the fundamentals of learner-centered and participatory approaches.
• understands the significance of goals and motivation in learning.
• is able to plan and conduct learner-centered and participatory teaching or practice sessions.
• is able to provide and receive feedback actively, constructively, and in a forward-looking manner.
• is familiar with prerequisites for developing pedagogical competence.
Content (course unit)
During the course, we will seek to answer the following questions:
• What do learner-centered and participatory approaches mean and what are they based on?
• How do goals and motivation support each other and learning?
• How do I plan and conduct learner-centered and participatory teaching or practice sessions?
• What are the goals and impacts of feedback, and how do I provide and receive feedback?
• What does the development of pedagogical competence require?
Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)
Completing the course successfully requires demonstrating competence in accordance with the competence objectives using the agreed implementation methods.
