Objectives (course unit)
Discover artificial intelligence: Learn its fundamentals and its impact on education now and in the future. This course is a comprehensive introduction to the world of artificial intelligence and provides students with the essential knowledge and practical skills to understand the fundamentals of AI, its applications, and ethical perspectives.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will have gained knowledge and skills to:
• understand the basic concepts of AI as well as its historical development
• explore the applications of AI across different fields
• understand the concepts of AI forms, machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning, as well as their differences
• explore the use of AI in supporting learning, as well as understand its application areas and impacts on education now and in the future
• develop the ability to assess the impacts of AI applications on society and ethical issues

• Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: An overview of AI development and the role of AI in the modern world.
• AI Applications: Introduction to AI applications in various fields, such as healthcare, transportation, and entertainment.
• Narrow AI vs. General AI: Exploring the concept of narrow AI, its applications, and differences compared to general AI.
• Machine Learning and Neural Networks: Basics of machine learning, the structure of neural networks, and their operation within the context of deep learning.
• Deep Learning and Language Models: Understanding the principles of deep learning and the role of language models, such as GPT, in the development of AI.
• Utilizing AI in Learning: Examples of AI applications in supporting learning and its potential for future education.
• Ethical Considerations and Societal Impacts: Discussion on the ethical questions of AI, privacy, data security, and its impact on the workforce.
• The Future of AI: Reflections on the future directions, possibilities, and challenges of AI, as well as the role of students in this development.
