Objectives (course unit)

- Identifies the key elements of the social work operational environment and service system and identifies the areas of change and development now and in the near future

- knows the basic legislation and administrative principles guiding social work

- can critically analyze social and global changes and anticipate their social influence

- is able to utilize scenario data and methods in planning and developing welfare services

Content (course unit)

Operational environment in social work and legislation governing it

Structure of the social and health service system and reforms in the near future

Methods of producing social services and administrative principles

Foresight information and its utilization in service planning

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Student can identify and describe the key elements of the operational environment in social work and the factors that influence their development. Student can describe the legislative and administrative principles that guide the work of social sector. Knows references of forecasting data.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

In addition to the above: Student is able to analyze the elements of the social work operational environment and reflect on the factors affecting development. Student can apply knowledge in analyzing one's own work environment and use forecasting data. Knows the key legislation and administrative principles in the field.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

In addition to the above: Student can analyze the components of the social environment and critically reflect the factors that influence development. Is able to evaluate the development needs and opportunities of services based on forecasting information.
