Students
-know the national legislation and instructions from authorities and EU-instructions governing optimization of patients’ radiation exposure
-know the measuring methods of radiation exposure
-know how to optimize patients’ radiation exposure in x-ray examinations
-are able to determine the patients’ dose (ESD, DAP, effective dose) in x-ray examinations and report the results

Content (course unit)

-national legislation and instructions from authorities and EU-instructions governing optimization of patients’ radiation exposure
-measuring methods of radiation exposure
-ESD calculation
-PCXMC
-data collection and statistic analysis and reporting

Prerequisites (course unit)

-Diagnostic Radiography, Clinical Training II

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

-can define the key concepts of radiation exposure
-can describe the measuring methods of radiation exposure
-can determine the patients’ dose (ESD, DAP, effective dose) in x-ray examinations and report the results

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

-can explain the key concepts of radiation exposure
-can explain the measuring methods of radiation exposure
-can determine the patients’ dose (ESD, DAP, effective dose) in x-ray examinations and report the results following good scientific practice

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

-can reasonably explain the key concepts of radiation exposure
-can reasonably explain the measuring methods of radiation exposure
-can determine the patients’ dose (ESD, DAP, effective dose) in x-ray examinations and report the results widely following good scientific practice
-can connect his/her own learning to vocational context

Assessment methods and criteria

Suoritus muodostuu useasta osasta:
-laboraatiot ja laboraatioihin liittyvät tehtävät (hyv/hyl)
-tentti (hyv/hyl)
-raportti (0-5)

Assessment scale

0-5

Teaching methods

Infoluento, teoriaopinnot verkossa, itsenäinen työskentely, laboraatiot, annosten määrittäminen (PCXMC).
Lähi- ja etäopetus.

Learning materials

Ilmoitetaan opintojakson alussa infoluennolla, jossa opiskelijan tulee olla läsnä.

Student workload

4 op = 108 h opiskelijan työtä

Content scheduling

Syksy 2023: teoria verkossa
Kevät 2024: laboraatiot, annosten määrittäminen (PCXMC), tulosten raportointi, koe

Completion alternatives

Ei valinnaisia suoritustapoja.

Assessment criteria - fail (0) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)
