Objectives (course unit)

The Student has deepen his knowledge of teaching pupils in different ages. He can choose the essential methods and tools to achieve the aims. He has ability to meet differnet learners and he has made acquaintance of Special music education. He can search more Information about it.
The Student can act as in digital society. He is in role of expert and notice the ethics of teaching. He can take advance of the music educational reseach.
He has a highly Level Sence of emotilanal Pedagogy and he can develop his own Work as Part of different Teams.
The Student knows how to act an Event Producer ja Project Manager and he can carry out an Event with Partner in cooperation.

Content (course unit)

The change of the role in expertation. Appying ICT to make learning possible.
Be aquainted with the reseach of music education and music psychology. Using the knowledge to students own work.
Taking participate in project.

Location and time

The content of the course includes 3 cr Mirja Kopra's share, 1 cr Matti Ruipo's share.
Matti Ruippo's share is divided into two groups (in alphabetical order).

In Mirja Kopra's part, all participants are involved in one group. The share includes the short period from September 2 to October 7. (Thursday 12.30–15.45, P2-02), project and feedback discussion 14.10. 12–14.15.

Matti Ruippo's part will be held on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4.15 pm.

Exam schedules

No exams.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The student receives feedback on their progress throughout the course. The evaluation of the course is influenced by participation and the performance of the given tasks.

Matti Ruippo: contact and distance teaching total 12 h. Project preparation and other work 18 h.
Mirja Kopra: contact and distance learning total 2 cr, project preparation and other independent work 1 cr.

Content scheduling

Matti Ruippo: The first two sessions of studying applications, the last two teaching sessions.
Mirja Kopra:
2.9. Initial discussion of the course, production and responsibility for the project, potential partners, start of planning
9.9. Changing the role of the teacher, pedagogical planning as part of the project, different learners as recipients, presentation and commenting on the plans, communication with partners
16.9. -29.9. small group work, guidance available
30.9. Reflection and finalization of the implementation plan, finalization of practices, revision of objectives,

Practical training and working life cooperation

The project to be implemented in Mirja Kopra's part is carried out in co-operation with parties outside the school. Students find a suitable partner for their project.

Approved: The student participates in the teaching, takes care of the realization of his / her own responsibilities and reflects on his / her own learning, eg. in a feedback discussion.
Rejected: The student does not participate in the teaching and / or does the given tasks incompletely.
