Osaamistavoitteet (Opintojakso)
After completing the course student understands data transfer from sensors to cloud and vice versa. Student understands how hardware and software together creates an intelligent IoT system. Students understands different IoT architectures.
Sisältö (Opintojakso)
Course covers basic sensor technologies and sensor interfaces with A/D- converter. Content includes examples how numeric data from the A/D- converter is transferred to cloud using local microcontroller. Course topics also includes basic IoT- protocols and broker functionality.

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet
a) Measured data must be readable in Arduino’s LCD display.
b) Measured data must be readable from Raspberry’s display.
c) Measured data must available in DataBase
d) Database data must be available to Web UI
e) Measured data can be seen by web UI (web UI course)

Opiskelumuodot ja opetusmenetelmät
Mostly laboratory work and coding. Also lectures and home assignments. In the beginning of the course project teams are formed. Each team is responsible for their assignments and can divide work load as each team see fit.

Will be discussed in the first meeting. All material necessary to complete the course will be available in tabula

Total of six lectures laboratory exercises included plus home assignments.
Sisällön jaksotus
Project teams, Basic electronics and hardware topics, sensors, MQTT, Arduino Mega and Broker functionality (Raspberry).
